Be Who You Want To Be

Shoot for the moon, even if you miss you’ll land among the stars

My blog has been very quiet over summer whilst I’ve been enjoying the plentiful British sunshine this year but this post has been developing in my mind for a long time.. now on a rainy A-level results day it seems an apt post.

My aim is to inspire even one person to believe they can be who they want to be, do what they want to do and live the life they want to live.  All it takes is hard work, belief in yourself, courage despite your fears, and a dream.  It is not just a cliche that everyone is good at something.  Find your something and if you enjoy it then follow that path; it doesn’t matter if you don’t think it will make you a lot of money because it is more important to be happy.  Most importantly we must not be held back by our background, circumstances and fears.

For example, if you come from a poor household and none of your family have been to university but you want to be a vet, don’t be put off by fears of not being able to afford to go to university.  There are student loans available and when you are earning enough to start paying it back it is just like an extra tax for the privilege of going to university to be able to become a vet.

Les Brown says “The graveyard is the richest place on earth, because it is here that you will find all the hopes and dreams that were never fulfilled, the books that were never written, the songs that were never sung, the inventions that were never shared, the cures that were never discovered, all because someone was too afraid to take that first step, keep with the problem, or not determined to carry our their dream.”  We must not let this happen.

  1. I love this, Hazy! Great to hear from you again. I’ve been a bit quiet on my blog too. It’s great advice. Sounds like it’s advice that you are following yourself. 😉
